Charles Hewlings, born 1948, lives and works in London. He exhibited at The Cut in March/April, 2012, and his work was also included in the SITE SPECIFIC on-line only exhibition in 2020/21.
He has exhibited in solo and group shows in the UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Holland and China.
He lectured and taught sculpture part time for twenty five years in many Art Schools in the UK.
In 1985, he was Visiting Sculptor at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, USA.
He has taken part in workshops, symposia and residencies in the UK, Germany, USA and China.
He has received an Arts Council Major Award, a Wilhelm Lehmbruck Scholarship and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. In 2007/08, he undertook a three month Residency at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, Bethany, CN, USA.
