In her first solo exhibition, local artist Laura Such presents Objects of Wonder, a collection of works that have been manipulated, cast, assembled and moulded into a playful and captivating show.
In a body of work that utilises a universal language of object, symbol, gesture, and metaphor, each piece mirrors states of being and poignant moments in a simultaneously playful and provocative way. Objects of Wonder integrates the most primal human emotions, whilst seeking to reflect society and address global issues, to question how we connect to ourselves, to others and to nature.
A recent finalist in the National Sculpture Prize, Laura Such works from her studio in Halesworth. “She is a flamboyant individual with perseverance and a peculiar ability to think outside normality. In her work, you see new meanings behind every-day, absurd, and humorous objects, and these forms can liberate you from a dulled way of thinking.” Charlie Powell, National Sculpture Prize Curator.
Visual poetry from a promising artist, growing in popularity, this is a show not to miss.
