Bruce Gernand
About The Artist
Bruce Gernand's WebsiteBruce Gernand has exhibited twice at The Cut, a solo show in 2006, and in 2017 jointly with Bob Billington.
Bruce Gernand has lived and worked in Norfolk for many decades.
He has a long standing concern for capacity of materials in sculpture to convey aspects of experience.
The convergence of zoological form and computational strategies is guided by a rather un-scientific and poetic concept: the chimera, a composite of different animal features which make a link with a long tradition in art where paradoxical conjunctions represent psychological integrations.
Teaching includes Head of Sculpture at Central St Martins and senior research fellow there.
