Bruce McLean at The Cut an exhibition running 5th September- 14th 0ctober 2023

Bruce McLean is one of the most energetic and productive artists of his generation. Included in his exhibition at The Cut will be sculpture, painting, performance, prints, ceramics, films, a flag, the design and making of a school, posters, as examples of his extraordinary range of activity over the last 60 years.

Bruce was a friend and collaborator with the author, commentator, and curator Mel Gooding, a champion of major abstract artists of the twentieth and twenty first century. Mel died in 2021 and this exhibition is in part a celebration of their incisive and often humorous interaction.

It is serendipitous that this exhibition acts as a prelude to The Summer Project, a 9 day residency at The Cut in 2024 promoting multiform visual art activity with 40 participants and 14 artist mentors for which Bruce will be an adviser.
