About The Artist
Clare Jarrett's exhibition, The Sorting Table, was at The Cut July/August, 2021.
Clare Jarrett investigates the particularity of materials, underpinned by a commitment to drawing.
Her practice is intuitive and experimental leading to finding emotional resonance within the work.
She initiated the BA Illustration course at Norwich School of Art and was tutor at the Royal College of Art.
Clare holds postgraduate qualifications in Illustration (RCA) and Creative Writing (UEA).
She won the Mother Goose award in 1997 and was a Hawthornden Writing Fellow in 2010.
In 2022-2024 she attended MASS programme, Turps Art School.
Her commission for Sculpture in the City, Sari Garden was exhibited in Heneage Lane, London EC1, from 2018 to 2020.
A solo show, The Sorting Table at The Cut, Halesworth 2021, was developed during lockdown.
She is a member of the artist collective @changeable_beast.
During 2025 she has shown at Hypha Studios; OPO Scarborough; Assembly House, Norwich; Apartamento Vacio, Madrid; Tryste,@tryst.la, @Torranceartmuseum, LA USA
August 2025, Clare is currently artist in residence @walnutworks, Suffolk.
