The Suffolk Group: New Cuts

Date: February 2007
Exhibition/Show Type: Group
Media: Other

Exhibition Description

The Suffolk Group exhibited at The Cut in 2007, and again in 2013.

The Suffolk Group was formed in 1990 by a small group of art school lecturers and other artists. Its aims – still relevant today – were to “put on exhibitions of a high standard and provide opportunities for mutual support”.

For more about The Suffolk Group follow this link.

In The Suffolk Group’s 2007 exhibition, “New Cuts”, sixteen members set out to exploit The Cut’s unique space in making and exhibiting work.

A look at new and exploratory work by some of the members of this well-established group of Suffolk Artists. The exhibition seeks to reveal something of the “spirit of enquiry” – along with the professionalism born of education and considerable experience – that reflects the group’s ethos.

At this time The Cut Archive has no materials on this exhibition – The Suffolk Group’s 2013 exhibition Cut Connections is more fully documented.
